With the rapid changes in our world, there are many things that are shifting.
Here are some of the upcoming trends…
1 FORMAL EDUCATION
The need for a good education to have career opportunities and a higher income is coming to an end. With the speed of things, by the time the material is covered, it’s often outdated. To add to it, the cost of the education is prohibitive for most.
2 LEADERS
Our desire to respect and follow any type of leader is quickly fading away. Through the years, leadership has mostly shifted from “supporting and guiding those in their charge” to “taking control of others and being in charge.”
3 SOCIAL GET-TOGETHERS
Ever since the beginning of 2020, social get-togethers aren’t what they used to be. Each year, there seem to be more reasons in favor of having more solitude, settling for a Zoom meeting, or just shortening the length of time physically being with others. Then, when we do venture out, it’s not usually as pleasant an experience as before. Gatherings seem to have a little less laughter and joy. Many attending are dealing with something that’s troubling them and are vocal about it.
4 ORGANIZED RELIGION
Organized religion has been on the decline for years and will probably continue that trend. With our dwindling respect for leaders, the uptick in judging and outcasting certain individuals or groups, and our struggle to obey their rigid rules, we are turning away from traditional religions.
5 IMPRESSING OTHERS
For decades, we have used owning expensive things, property, and money as a way to attract attention and be admired. Now it’s becoming more off-putting; like it’s the opposite—almost a sign of greediness or the use of unethical methods to bring these things about.
6 TRANSITION OF WORK
The layoffs have begun. The idea of job or even career security is quickly coming to an end. There are several factors driving this all at once. The main ones are AI and automation, inflation, economic uncertainty, and the drop in consumerism.
We will probably become a gig society (work that is based on temporary contracts, or freelance). It’s less stable, but allows more personal control over scheduling.
7 PERFECTIONISM
We are quickly moving away from trying to be perfect to prove our self-worth. Seeking validation from others by drawing attention to ourselves with our looks, behaviors, achievements, talents, or being a perfect friend, parent, or partner is diminishing.
Instead, we seem to be moving towards acceptance of imperfection and being more authentic.
8 ADVERTISING
For decades, advertising was the ideal way to sell products and services. But lately, advertisers are going crazy trying to inundate us with promo after promo every waking hour and everywhere we look. They’re even attempting to put ads on screens on refrigerators or in autos.
Many of us are getting “ad fatigue” and are almost to the point where we are becoming repulsed by them. Soon, they will lose their effectiveness and peter out.
9 THE FAMOUS
We are quickly losing our fascination for the well-known, such as celebrities, athletes, the rich, business and government leaders, and monarchies. We often learn too much about them—seeing their flaws, their moral compromises, their show of wealth and status, and the unfair advantages they have.
10 MAINSTREAM HEALTHCARE
There are several reasons why our mainstream healthcare system is on its way out. They include AI, doctor and nurse shortages, rising health insurance costs, and increasing denials or limits on medications, therapies, and procedures by insurers.
Maybe we’ll have to resort to the power of our own thoughts and perceptions to release our fear, anger, and grudges so our bodies can heal.
11 DOING ACTIVITIES
Not only is our drive for social activity slowing, but our urge to stay crazy busy by doing something and being productive is declining. It seems like we are getting tired of running on the hamster wheel, never really getting anywhere.
12 LACK OF TRUST
It was easy to trust others, groups, businesses, and organizations when they were run from the moral compass based on “treat others as you want to be treated.” But because lying, misleading others, and deception have become almost normal now. So our trust to take things at face value or without diving deeper is really risky.
This might be a good time to practice using our intuition or inner guidance.
13 SUBSCRIPTIONS
It seems like every business is climbing on the subscription bandwagon trying to eke out a little bit of ongoing money from us. It’s starting to backfire. People are beginning to really look into whether every subscription is worth it or not. If businesses make it difficult to opt out, the faster it will backfire on them. People will get to the point where they will not purchase the product or service just because of the subscriptions.
14 HOLLYWOOD
The era of Hollywood entertainment is quickly drawing to a close. Somehow, the industry took creativity—the art of good storytelling, talented actors that looked like normal people, with meaningful messages and emotional connection—and replaced it with reboots, remakes, and sequels—AI-generated scripts, bland actors with no physical flaws, with the underlying message that has been redone over and over, diluted, or not evident at all.
