Most of us are being forced out of our comfort zones. You know, that place where we feel safe and at ease with very little fear. Sometimes the cause is something that is happening in the world around us, such as extreme weather events, corruption, misleading or biased information, internet outages, rising prices, or any violence. Sometimes the trigger is personal, hitting us square on, such as injury, illness, a car accident, being laid off, a breakup, a financial hardship, or anything else that makes us change in some way.
Two Reasons Why the Push Out of Our Comfort Zones is So Intense Now
One reason why it’s so intense is…
1 THE SPEED
One of the reasons why the push out of our comfort zones is so intense is the speed at which things are happening. It’s almost like everything is changing faster than any other time that we’ve experienced.
Pushing us out of our comfort zone at this rate is causing us to slow down, and not make as many plans.
More and more we are taking ourselves off of auto-pilot and paying attention to if it feels right. We’re starting to make fewer plans and be more flexible with the plans we do have.
Examples of plans that might need to change…
College degrees in certain fields Traveling in extreme weather
The speed at which things are happening is helping us be more flexible, live in the moment, and listen to our intuitive guidance more.
The other reason why it’s so intense is…
2 OUR SAFETY OR SECURITY IS SHIFTING
Before, most of us found our safety or security from things OUTSIDE of ourselves. That means counting on external traditions, systems, and policies others have established and now enforce, such as our financial system, our employer, our parents, our culture, and our government.
___
Our Safety or Security is Shifting Inward
Now, our safety or security can come from our thoughts, attitudes, perceptions, and/or intuitive guidance.
We may not be able to control what’s happening OUTSIDE of ourselves, but we can control our experience of it.
We have the option to make anything the worst thing that happens to us or one of the best things that happens to us.
___
The Benefits of Knowing About the Massive Shift INWARD
1 Just being aware of the shift from counting on things OUTSIDE ourselves to going INWARD can take some of the fear away from all the changes that are happening.
2 Knowing about the shift INWARD helps us to have faith that everything is changing for the better even though at times, it doesn’t appear to be.
3 Knowing about the shift INWARD helps us to stop resisting it and move into a new way of living. We’re just getting exhausted by trying to go against the current instead of going with the flow.
The only thing that can truly help or hurt us is our thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions about what’s happening.
Going INWARD Can Help Us…
- Aleve some, if not all, of our doubt and worry about stressful events.
- Easily accept all the changes that are happening.
- Use our inner guidance (intuition, God’s voice, gut instincts, gut feelings, or whatever you want to label it).
- Be grateful, even for the uncomfortable situations.
- Take ourselves off of auto-pilot and dispel our pesky negative thoughts and perceptions.
- Loosen up our need to numb ourselves from feeling. What we use to desensitize ourselves could be anything—food, pills, alcohol, drugs, caffeine, cigarettes, shopping, being crazy busy, binge-watching, or hundreds of other options.
- Have courage and become the hero in our life.
