It seems that we are in the middle of some crazy times and many of us are feeling unsafe and insecure. We could feel unsafe about the government, the economy, global warming, our jobs, our careers, our finances, the future, or just about anything else we can think of.
12 Signs You Are Feeling Unsafe
When you…
- Feel trapped or hopeless about the future.
- Get angry with what’s happening or who is causing it.
- Worry when something unexpected changes.
- Judge and bad mouth.
- Use food, cigarettes, caffeine, pills, alcohol, cannabis, or anything else to relieve your stress and feel in control.
- Are easily deceived by others.
- Ignore your intuition or inner guidance.
- Are afraid to have courage and make some changes.
Feeling unsafe can easily lead to casting blame. Casting blame can easily lead to anger. Anger can easily lead to hate. Hate can easily lead to conflict. Conflict can easily lead to more things to feel unsafe about.
To put it bluntly, feeling unsafe can easily bring about the very things we fear the most.

3 Ways to Feel Safer
Whether tormented about what’s going to happen, worried over losing something, or just uncomfortable with change, many of us are simply trying to get through the day without letting the fear consume us. It’s like the ground has been pulled out from underneath us. We just don’t feel safe. Here’s some ways to help you feel safer…
1 GO INWARD
These days our world is changing so quickly it’s easy to let outside events and situations take control of our lives and run the show. We think we are at their mercy and cannot do anything about them.
One of the ways to stop events from taking control is to sit down, get quiet, and have a heart-to-heart conversation with yourself about any stressful situation. Ask yourself some YES, NO, or WAIT questions, and pay attention to your heart’s answers.
YES, NO, or WAIT answers are the easiest to understand, whereas questions requiring essay answers make it very difficult to know what your heart is trying to tell you.
Questions needing an essay answer are usually long, spew anger, and give you lots of excuses to defend your reasoning. Those aren’t from the heart!
Another Way to Feel Safer is to…
2 QUIT TOLERATING WHAT IS BECOMING INTOLERABLE
A lot of us brush things under the rug and think it will go away. But in many areas of our lives, the rug can get so high it becomes a blockade and paralyzes us. Often we need to get the courage to do what our heart has been telling us to do and stop tolerating it. It may ruffle some feathers, but it helps everyone in the long run.
Another Way to Feel Safer is to…
3 TRUST YOUR INTUITION
One of the ways to start feeling safer is to stop putting ALL your faith in the government, laws, and anyone or anything out there that is promising you security. Instead, trust your intuition or inner guidance. You know, that silent voice or knowing inside that can quell your fears, pull you out of any jam, and solve any situation without hurting anyone, including you.
