4 Reasons Why Most Are NOT Aware of Their Intuition

1   THE DEFINITION OF INTUITION-

How we define intuition can make a big difference in whether we are aware of it. Analytical people might call intuition gut instincts, a knowing, an insight, or a hunch. Religious people might call it God’s guidance, God’s voice, or Holy Spirit. Spiritual people might call it Universe, Spirit, Guides, Divine, or inner guidance.

Intuition is the generic term that encompasses all of those and any other term we want to call it—and that knows how to guide us out of any jam, or solve any problem so that everyone wins in the long run.

2   WE HAVE ADDICTIONS AND HABITS-

Before you pass this reason by, thinking it doesn’t apply to you, read on. Almost every one of us does or has done this to some extent!

Addictions and even just ordinary habits are often used to numb or cut ourselves off from feeling, which is a main way intuition comes to us. When we use something to numb our bad or good feelings, it numbs everything, including our awareness of our intuition.

It could be food, pills, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, caffeine, impulse buying, keeping crazy busy, socializing, binge watching, overworking, texting, or any of the hundreds of other things we use to diminish our ability to feel and be aware of our intuition. For instance, we often overeat and drink to an excess to celebrate something good.

3   WE WOULD RATHER FIGURE IT OUT OURSELVES-

This is when we think we know the answer and are not willing to accept anything else. This often occurs when we are trying to prove our worth or are trying to build our self-esteem by being right. For instance, being concerned with our reputation can easily camouflage our intuition from us.

4   WE DON’T WANT THE ANSWER-

This is a big one! There are times we flat out don’t want to be aware of our intuition. For instance, if the answer isn’t what WE want or when WE want it. Or when we want to keep blaming, criticizing, and punishing ourselves or others for their mistakes. Lack of money, poor health, difficult relationships, and having a dead-end career are often caused by not wanting the answer.

Whether you can identify with one of these reasons or all four, life can be so much easier, more enjoyable, and downright amazing when you are tapped into your intuition and follow it.
