Here’s what is talked about in this video…
My name is Vickie Champion and I am a business and life coach who helps people get out of the fear and use to their intuition or gut instincts.
I thought it would be fun to let you hear from one of my coaching clients who had a decision to make and used his intuition, Jeff Taylor. He is blogging about his experiences and can be found at http://www.MyInnerJourneyToHappiness.com/. Here’s Jeff’s story.
Hi, I’m Jeff Taylor and I’d like to share a personal story about a challenging situation when I was attempting to use my instinct to make a decision. It had to do with a personal story around relocating.
I was faced with a situation where I had to move out of my current residence and either rent, buy or look for some other option. I wasn’t listening to my instinct and this is what happened.
I started looking for a piece of real estate using my business sense. On black and white it looked really good. I got a real estate agent and started looking at properties. Either the price points were too high, it wasn’t the right area, or just some other aspect of it wasn’t right. I sensed it – I was tight, I wasn’t real happy, and it just wasn’t ‘gelling’ with the real estate agent. I was trying to figure out why my search criteria didn’t match theirs.
Being all frustrated and tense inside, I decided to explore other options. And one of those was through coaching and discussing the topic with my coach, Vickie Champion. We looked at all the options and she proposed renting.
So I started looking at rental properties and actually found some really good ones that I liked. I found a beautiful complex with beautiful amenities – a place that you could call home. It felt really good and I could see myself living in it.
I just wasn’t ready to let go of my analytical side. I kept thinking I needed to look at more properties and more options, but I started to become frustrated again. So, I wrote everything down, I discussed the topic with Vickie attempting to make the right decision.
When I really looked at it, the answer was there all along. It just felt right. I could just see myself living there. I got a sense of calm, a sense of peace, and I knew it was right. All the stress dissolved and I felt really good about the decision.
Did you notice when Jeff was looking to buy a home, he felt tense, and ran into lots of obstacles and communication problems with his real estate agent. Those are all sign’s your intuition is telling you “no.”
Yet, even though it didn’t seem logical to Jeff, he could see himself living in this one apartment. Every time he thought about it, his stress disappeared and he had a “knowing” it was the right decision. That’s your gut instincts or intuition saying “yes.”
