Here’s what is talked about in this video…
When you think of “learn to love” most people think of learning how to love others and ourselves.
Here’s a story about something no one thinks about…
Year’s ago I had a very painful experience that I want to share with you. It all started when my dishwasher broke. Just like most repairs I called a repairman and forgot all about it. He showed up a couple of days later and said we needed to replace a part and he would order it right away and call us when it was in.
Three weeks later I had a feeling I should call and check up on it. I found out he forgot to order the part and promised he would right after we got off of the phone. After another three weeks he comes with the part and we find out he ordered the wrong part.
That was just the start of the delays, one thing after another happened anywhere from back ordering the part, computer system went down, shipping company losing the part, to the technician was on vacation. I really started to pay attention when the same stuff happened when we changed repair companies.
It was going on 4 months and I was at my wits end. Since I teach my coaching clients about being in the flow, I had to figure out what the lesson was here so it could finally get it resolved. At last I had a ah-hah moment.
Ever since I can remember, I hated doing dishes. Just the idea of maybe touching leftover food, scouring pots and pans, greasy stuck on food particles, dishes, made me cringe. I knew what I had to do. I had to learn how to love doing dishes.
Once I changed my mind about loving to do dishes, the dishwasher was fixed. Now sometimes I catch myself doing the dishes by hand because I don’t mind it anymore.
I think our lesson is to learn how to love everything we dislike, not just others and ourselves.
