I have had the honor of being a business and life coach to Connie Phillips-Eary, the executive director at Sojourner Center in Phoenix, AZ. I really admire how she achieved one of her dreams. Below is her story of how she got out of fear of failing.
Connie wanted to hike the breathtaking and remote Havasupai Falls in Arizona. The 12- mile hike was not for the faint of heart with switchbacks and a steep descent.

How to Get Out of a Jam, Crisis or an Unexpected Predicament
I have had the honor of being a business and life coach to Diane Bolden. I recently asked her to tell us how she conquered a difficult situation.
Here’s a recap of her story of getting out of a difficult situation…
A few years ago I had the opportunity to go snow skiing which I love to do and I hadn’t done it in years. I couldn’t wait to hit the slopes and I knew I needed to start slowly because it had been a really long time. So I started off with easy runs and it wasn’t long before I said, “Too heck with this, I’m going straight for a black diamond run.”

How to Get Out of Fear in a Relationship
One of my longtime life coaching clients that I admire is Kimber Lambeth. How I Found my Dream Job
After twenty-some years in the publishing and printing business, I was getting little hints (I call this my intuition or gut feelings) my career was going to change.
- The actual work became “ho mum.”
- I started running into a lot of obstacles, whether it was complications in meeting deadlines, missed communications, or playing endless phone tag with customers and vendors.
- I noticed more and more I could think of dozens of things I much rather be doing than working.
- It was hard to concentrate, which was very unusual for me.
The Worst Way to Pay Bills
Overview
This short video tells a step-by-step story of the process of making payments in a bad, unsuccessful, or poor way that sabotages us. How we pay bills has immediate effects.
Here’s what is thought about in this video…
“There’s never enough money!”
“I hope they don’t hit me with another late fee.”
“I hate paying bills…”
“…especially the Public Utility Company.”
“They keep raising the rates…”
“…so that the CEO can buy one more mansion.”
“How am I ever going to make ends meet?”
“This is making me sick! I’ll finish this later.”
HINT: Negative thoughts cause us to pay late and forget to turn the lights off.

Here’s what is talked about in this video…
When you think of “learn to love” most people think of learning how to love others and ourselves.
An Intuition Story- Deciding to Buy or to Rent
Here’s what is talked about in this video…
INTRODUCTION
My name is Vickie Champion and I am a business and life coach who helps people get out of the fear and use to their intuition or gut instincts.
I thought it would be fun to let you hear from one of my coaching clients who had a decision to make and used his intuition, Jeff Taylor. He is blogging about his experiences and can be found at http://www.MyInnerJourneyToHappiness.com/. Here’s Jeff’s story.
A Story About Overcoming Guilt
I often tell this story because it reminds me how much I need others to help open my mind and how we can sometimes transform our guilt into something positive.
THE STORY
Just before my grandmother passed away, she made me a bright pink and raspberry red throw for the couch. If you know me, you know bright, bold colors are not my style.
Even though I was plagued with guilt, for several years I was unable to even get it out of the bag and use it. I had so much guilt, I discussed this with my life coach at the time and she said ”If you don’t like it, it wasn’t really made for you. You’re only supposed to deliver it to the rightful owner.”
An Intuition Story- Ski Trip
Here’s what is talked about in this video…
INTRODUCTION
My name is Vickie Champion and I am a business and life coach who helps people get out of the fear and use to their intuition or gut instincts.
I thought it would be fun to let you hear from one of my coaching clients who had a very interesting example about using our intuition. Here is Diane Bolden who is also a leadership coach and the author of “The Pinocchio Principle” with her story.
A Positive Relationship with Money Can Equal a Thinner Body
As a life coach for many years, it’s clear to me that there is a direct correlation between being overweight and having financial woes.
I’m going to tell you about Sandy, one of my money coaching success stories, to show you what I mean. Sandy came to me not because she needed more money but because she lived with a constant fear of losing what she had. This fear kept her in the habit of over saving.
Ineffective Way to do an Affirmation
I gave this affirmation to an Orange County, Calif. life coaching client of mine: “Above all else, I want to be happy.” At her next coaching session she blurted out “Your affirmation isn’t working. I don’t feel any better.” I asked her how she was doing the affirmation. She said she was using Twitter. Several times a day, she would paste and cut the affirmation into a new tweet.
There’s the answer. When we paste and cut words, we put our minds on auto-pilot. In order to reap the positive benefits of affirmations we need to actually think about them. The more frequently we repeat our affirmations through writing or verbally --and think about them as we do this -- the quicker and more amazing the results.
How We Under Use the Power of Thought
It always fascinates me what we accept as fact, how these “facts” have power over us and why we tolerate them. We never stop to think that all we need to do is change our minds.
The Sizzling Story
The scorching summer heat in Phoenix, AZ can be absolutely miserable. Everywhere you go you hear people complaining and rearranging their whole life around the temperature.
When is it Time to Rethink Your Job Hunting Search?
I just put a job opening for an appointment setter out on Craigslist. A guy responded that was recently laid off from a restaurant stove cleaning service in California. He made calls to set up appointments in Orange County from his home in Phoenix. He said he did quiet well, and was let go only because this was the stove cleaning business slow season in Orange County. One thing led to another and I ended up doing a career coaching session to help him think outside the box with his job hunting search.

Nickel and Diming our Money Away
I talked to two people this week who mentioned that they were tired of being nickel and dimed. This reminded me of a coaching client I had years ago.
This hard-working mother of four children felt shame that she couldn’t give her children more. So we poured over her budget and I learned that every night she was buying fast food for dinner.
Clearly she was nickel and diming her money away. And the habit was costly in other ways. She was overweight and two of her children also were getting chubby. Easy fix, right? Tell the mother to stop the nightly drive-thru runs. But she worked long hours and coming home to cook – her least favorite thing to do –wasn’t likely something she would stick with very long.
One Way to Get Rid of the Fear of Public Speaking
Public speaking is, by far, my greatest fear. I was completely and utterly terrified of speaking in a group. I would even forgo attending meetings and workshops if I knew I would have to announce my name to the group.
Fortunately, my intuition gave me a way to move past this fear. Each and every one of the 800 or so times I’ve done public speaking, I speak to (God, universe, source, inner guide, higher self, whatever you identify with) first. I tell God, “this is your event – let me speak your words, hear with your ears, see with your eyes, and touch with your hands and let me not judge anything that happens.” This “letting go and letting God” releases the fear every time.
Do You Know What Your Dreams Are?
I have been working with my latest client, a newly single Mom. We have only had a couple of coaching sessions, but I already recognize symptoms of several of the most common money problems:

- Overspending money on her son to relieve her guilt over her deadbeat ex
- Knows what budgeting is all about but never took it seriously
- Has a hard time controlling her impulse spending
- Nickel and dimes her money away on quick fixes instead of saving up for what she really wants and needs
- Accepts financial help from her Mom, but feels lousy about it
