Jobs & Careers- Article on Finding a Perfect Job
Use Your Intuition to Find the Perfect Job in a Down Economy!
In this economy it's easy to get caught up in the fear
and put getting your perfect job on the back burner. It seems that the only thing important now is just having a job. And finding a job in a lousy economy is neither encouraging nor easy, but there is hope. Economic downturns are cyclical and things will get better so now might be the time to take a step back, listen, and consider your values, dreams and hopes for the perfect job.
Signs You Don't Have Your Perfect Job Yet
When you...
- Believe security and money is more important than enjoying your job.
- Dread going into the office and can't wait to leave.
- Would quit your job immediately if you won the lottery.
- Have parents that didn't have their perfect jobs either.
- Haven't read What Color is Your Parachute? and answered the questions.
- Wouldn't even consider doing the job for minimum wage or free.
- Find yourself making excuses why you don't have your perfect job: you're waiting for your kids to leave home, you're the primary bread winner or your spouse would never allow it.
- Seek comfort in too much food, alcohol, shopping sprees or other overindulgences.
- Daydream about things you would rather be doing than working.
- Suffer physical symptoms like a racing heart or knotted stomach when you think about starting another work week.
- Count the years and months until retirement.
- Envy others doing what they love to do.
- Are too scared to try something new or to even consider changing your career.
If you were nodding along as you read this, first try listening and then try trusting your intuition or gut instincts. Not only will you find a job, but you'll find one you enjoy.
Four Steps to Listening to Your Intuition to Finding Your Perfect Job
1. HAVE A WILLINGNESS
The most important requirement in tuning into our intuition is the willingness to hear the answer. Nothing more.
2. GET TO NEUTRAL
Next we have to open up and let go of our judgments. Release what we hold tight to as what we think is the perfect job or the wrong job. There are several ways to get to neutral but one of the easiest is through this affirmation: "I'm a ready for my perfect job and I don't care what it is." Repeat it until you believe it.
3. ACKNOWLEDGE THE ANSWER
Once we get to neutral, "intuitive" answers can come to us in several ways such as in dreams, seeing a vision, hearing a silent voice, a feeling, physical symptoms in your body, or coincidences to name a few.
4. ACCEPT THE ANSWER GIVEN & FOLLOW IT THROUGH
It's important to honor your intuition and not to judge it. Believe in what you are "sensing." Intuition doesn't require strain or effort. It's more a matter of becoming relaxed and open. Get in the "receiving mode" and then pay attention.Fear can scramble your thoughts. Fear can make you react and not always in ways that support your well-being, health, or even - surprisingly -- your bank account. Intuition can help you act and always with your best interests at heart.
