As a life coach for many years, it’s clear to me that there is a direct correlation between being overweight and having financial woes.
I’m going to tell you about Sandy, one of my money coaching success stories, to show you what I mean. Sandy came to me not because she needed more money but because she lived with a constant fear of losing what she had. This fear kept her in the habit of over saving.
By learning how to use a budget to build her self-esteem, she eliminated her fear of financial disaster. After a few months, Sandy was confident enough to budget in one of her dreams, hiring a personal trainer. Before, she always thought it was way out of her price range and that only rich people could afford such personal attention. As the weight came off -- 40 pounds! -- her self-esteem grew, both with her finances and her weight issues. Sandy transitioned into the woman she has become today; one who uses money and her weight to build her self-esteem instead of tear it down.
My coaching client is proof that everything is intertwined. Once we decide to positively change one area of our life, whether it’s related to money, weight, or anything else, it will naturally improve other areas.
