I gave this affirmation to an Newport Beach, CA life coaching client of mine: “Above all else, I want to be happy.” At her next coaching session she blurted out “Your mantra isn’t working. I don’t feel any better.” I asked her how she was doing the affirmation. She said she was using Twitter. Several times a day, she would paste and cut the affirmation into a new tweet.
There’s the answer. When we paste and cut words, we put our minds on auto-pilot. In order to reap the positive benefits of affirmations we need to actually think about them. The more frequently we repeat our affirmations through writing or verbally –and think about them as we do this — the quicker and more amazing the results.
