The Costs of Overeating
As a life and weight coach, overeating is a concern we discuss in our coaching sessions. From my experience and my clients, I've concluded that most of us are not aware of the enormous price we pay for overeating.
Here are Some of the Costs of Overeating...
FINANCIAL COSTS
- Added expenses of larger-sized clothing.
- Health club memberships never used.
- Extra money spent on extra food.
- Money spent on various diet programs.
- Higher medical bills due to weight issues.
- Lost job opportunities, promotions, or customers.
HEALTH COSTS
- It's easier to get run down and pick up the latest bug.
- Poor health, like having high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes or heart conditions.
- Increased difficulty in doing physical activity, which relieves stress and improves our health.
- Suffering from side effects from additional prescriptions.
- Low energy.
TIME COSTS
- Thinking about what we are going to eat next.
- Constantly eating.
- Waiting in fast food lines, which is probably the same amount of time it takes to prepare a healthy meal at home.
EMOTIONAL COSTS
- Decreased connection with friends and family.
- Distraction from achieving our dreams and goals in life.
- Keeps us hanging onto other problems because we numb our feelings and “stuff them” instead of deal with them.
- Lack of self-esteem and confidence.
- Lessened ability to listen to our intuition.
- Forgo adventure, passion, and "being alive".
After all of those, is overeating really worth the price we have to pay?
